GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE FOR TRAVEL BETWEEN 1st APRIL 2020 TO 31st MARCH 2021

INSURANCE OPTIONS
STANDARD RATE leaves you still to pay a Bond/Excess. Refundable bond (Insurance excess) NZ$3000 per accident (must be available to freeze on your card at pick up). This is a preauthorisation which means the bond amount is frozen (or reserved) on your credit card, but not deducted.

BOND WAIVER OPTION: ALL INCLUSIVE
All Inclusive available for $30 per day reduces Bond/Excess to Nil. Single vehicle accidents. Also includes: Glass cover, Unlimited windscreen chips, Side mirrors, Exterior panels, Under body, the Roof, 2 replacements tyres, Towing in event of mechanical failure. *Cover for gravel roads (excludes the restricted roads - Skippers Canyon Road near Queenstown, Ball Hutt Road near Mt Cook and Ninety Mile Beach in Northland. All Inclusive is capped at $1200 or 40-day hire.

Glass Cover (Glass cover is included in All Inclusive option).
For an additional $8 per day you will be covered for the loss or breakage of one front windscreen, side and rear windows, and sunroof. Payable at the depot.

MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD/ONE WAY HIRES
The minimum rental period is 5 days from 1 April to 31 October. From 1 November to 31 March the minimum rental period is 10 days.
For one way hires, a 10 day minimum rental period applies 1 April to 31 October. From 1 November to 31 March the minimum rental period is extended to 14 days.
(No one way fee applies between Auckland and Christchurch). Subject to change at discretion of Spaceships.

AUCKLAND:
Summer Opening hours (staff on-site): 8am (08:00) - 5pm (17:00) 7 days a week from 30 September 2019 until 2 June 2019 (Summer)
Winter Opening hours (staff on-site): 8am (08:00) - 5pm (17:00) 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) from 3 June 2019 to 29 September 2019 (Winter)

CHRISTCHURCH:
Summer Opening hours (staff on-site): 8am (08:00) - 5pm (17:00) 7 days a week from 30 September 2019 until 2 June 2019 (Summer)
Winter Opening hours (staff on-site): 8am (08:00) - 5pm (17:00) 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) from 3 June 2019 to 29 September 2019 (Winter)

DRIVERS LICENCES
To drive a Spaceship you must have a valid full driver’s licence (held for over one year) and be over the age of 18. New Zealand law recognises driver’s licences issued by your own country (as long as they are in an English format), as well as ‘international driver’s licences’. All foreign driver’s licence holders must carry an English translation of their licence in order to drive on New Zealand roads.

CANCELLATION FEES
If cancelled 22 days and over prior to pickup the deposit is retained with a minimum of NZ$250.
From 21-7 days prior to pick up 40% of total rental value. Minimum of NZ$250 retained.
For 6-1 days prior to departure 50% of total rental value. This is additional to any cancellation fee paid to an Agent.
If cancelled on the day of departure or you no show, then 100% of total rental value.
Failure to collect a Vehicle on the confirmed booking date will result in the loss of that hire day and fees.
We reserve the right to release the Vehicle 12 hours after your scheduled pick up if you have not advised us of any change to your pick up date.
