If you're flying into Queenstown and want to hire a campervan, check beforehand if there are free pickup and drop-off services to and from depots in the city. 

Most motorhome rental companies in Queenstown offer courtesy transfers on the day of arrival and departure and have depots close to the airport. Companies offering the transfers will collect you in a shuttle bus and take you to their depot (they do not deliver the rental campervan). Queenstown is a resort town in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island.

The town is built around an inlet called Queenstown Bay on Lake Wakatipu, a long, thin Z-shaped lake formed by glacial processes. The area has views of nearby mountains, such as The Remarkables, Cecil Peak, and Walter Peak. Plus, Ben Lomond and Queenstown Hill sit just above the town.

However, being closer to the west coast, the town is more susceptible to rain-bearing fronts than nearby Cromwell, Wanaka, and Alexandra.
