Gisborne Wine & Food Festival

Gisborne

Sunday, Oct 20th, 2024 to Tuesday, Oct 22nd, 2024

Venue/dates may change - you are advised to check.

The Gisborne Wine & Food Festival has been a must-do Labour Weekend event since 1997. This year's festival has a spectacular new venue, a completely new format, and lots more to taste, experience and be entertained.

Day one of this legendary festival sees Gisborne’s finest wineries host cellar door visits.

Cellar doors will be open for wine lovers interested in a more intimate tasting experience. Meet the personalities behind our superb Gisborne wines, learn first-hand about their styles and techniques, and what makes each of our wineries different from the next.

Cellar Door Saturday is self-drive and all the wineries are within a 15km radius of the city.

On day two the action focuses on Awapuni Stadium where local Gisborne eateries team up the region’s wineries to deliver wine and food in a boutique marketplace. East Coast artisan food makers are also to the fore and the menu includes locally grown beef, lamb, kaimoana, olive oils, cheeses and fresh produce.

The festival also boasts three stages and plenty of activities and space for you to relax and enjoy the very best our region has to offer.

This year we have brought the festival into the city. Awapuni Stadium play’s host to the festival. Cloistered behind hedgerows, and adjacent to one of the most scenic beaches in the country, it’s one of Gisborne’s best kept secrets.

Enjoy a fun, relaxing and sophisticated day out.
