GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE FOR TRAVEL TILL 31st MARCH 2023

MINIMUM AGE IS 25 YEARS FOR DRIVER

INSURANCE OPTIONS
If Road Runner Rentals insurance reduction option is not chosen, the standard excess of $2,000 (Hi Way Runner, Queenie, Clubby, Freedom) or $4,000 (Sprinter 2, Navigator, Explorer) is charged to a credit card on pickup. The hirer is responsible for any associated bank / credit card / exchange rate charge.
This will be refunded after the vehicle drop off. Processing time will be 5-10 working days.

Risk Taker: Bond Excess $2,000 (Hi Way Runner, Queenie, Clubby, Freedom) or $4,000 (Sprinter 2, Navigator, Explorer) or option below can be taken to reduce the Bond Excess.

Bond Reduction Option for Hi Way Runner, Queenie, Clubby, Freedom: NZ$25 per day reduces Bond Excess to Zero. Includes Multi Vehicle Collision Damage Waiver - Covers Windscreen/Tyres & Damage to other vehicle.

Bond Reduction Option for Sprinter 2, Navigator, Explorer: NZ$45 per day reduces Bond Excess to Zero. Includes Multi Vehicle Collision Damage Waiver - Covers Windscreen/Tyres & Damage to other vehicle.

Important Notes:
Multi Vehicle Excesses – in the case where you crash into something or someone else then this insurance will cover the other party as well as your vehicle.

If the full insurance is not taken, Road Runner Rentals now have a windscreen and tyre cover option at $4.50/day. This can be selected at the depot.

PAYMENT TERMS, STANDARD BOND AND ROAD USER CHARGES
A Standard Bond of NZ$1,000 (Sprinter 2 berth, Navigator 4 berth and Mercedes 6 berth) is debited at the depot at the start of the hire.
This Bond covers: Road User Charge which is $6.50 per 100km. (Any unused road user charges are refunded at end of the hire) and to ensure the vehicle is returned to the correct location on time, is full of fuel and all other terms of the Rental Contract have been adhered to. The Bond will also be used for any vehicle infringements incurred, plus administration fees. This will be refunded after the vehicle drop off. Processing time will be 5-10 working days

PUBLIC HOLIDAY SURCHARGE
A NZ$60 surcharge will apply to all rentals picking up and/or dropping off on National public holidays:

BRANCH HOURS
Monday to Sunday: 9.00AM to 4.30PM

PICK UP AND DROP OFF HOURS
Pick up time (clients arrive at our depot to pick up): 9.30 AM to 3.30 PM
Free Transfer: 10.00 AM to 3.00 PM. Otherwise by arrangement. Late or early pick-up, an additional fee of $90.00 applies and only by prior arrangement.
Latest drop off time: 12pm with a courtesy period of 2 hours. Any drop off after 2pm regardless of pick up time you will be charged another days hire, unless pre-arranged with the RRR team.

AFTER HOURS
After Hours pickups are available on request only. A fee of NZ$90 will apply.

In the event of any unauthorised extension to the Return Date, RRR reserves the right to charge the current daily rental rate for each day until the Vehicle is returned and an additional late return fee of up to $2500. In the event of any unauthorised change to the Return Location, RRR reserves the right to charge an additional relocation fee of up to $2500.

MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD. (Subject to change at discretion of RRR)
Mar - 14 Dec - 10 days
15 Dec - 28 Feb - 14 days

DRIVERS LICENSES
A full resident country driver’s licence must be presented at the time of Vehicle pick up for each nominated driver.
If the driver’s licence is not in the English language then an international driver’s licence is also required. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit. New Zealand law states if your overseas driver’s licence is NOT in English you must carry an accurate translation. This is your responsibility as the hirer. The driver’s licence must be valid for the whole length of the rental.

CANCELLATION FEES
All deposits on Confirmed booking are non refundable and incur a Cancellation fee of NZ$250 or the deposit whichever is greater
From 30 - 20 days prior to pick up 50% of Total Rental, with a minimum Cancellation fee of NZ$250
From 10 - 19 days prior to pick up 75% of Total Rental
From 1 - 9 days prior to pick up 100% of Total Rental
If cancelled on the day of pick up or no show 100% of Total Rental applies

Booking Amendment:
Any changes to your booking (including voluntary downgrade) will be calculated by using either the original rate or the rate that is valid at the time of the booking change, depending on whichever rate is higher. There are no exceptions to this rule. Booking amendments include: Change of date for vehicle pick-up or drop-off, Change of location for vehicle pick-up or drop-off or Change of vehicle category. Any changes will incur an administration fee of NZ$25 and is subject to authorisation from Road Runner Rentals.

Frustrated Contract:
In the event the contract becomes frustrated when, without the fault by either party the contract is impossible to perform, a credit will be offered for future travel valid for a period of 24 months from original travel dates.
