GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE FOR TRAVEL BETWEEN 1st MAY 2018 TO 30TH SEPTEMBER 2019

INSURANCE OPTIONS
BRONZE - STANDARD RATE (minimum level of insurance and already included in the quoted rate). Standard rate leaves you still to pay a Bond/Excess of NZ$6000 (credit card bank pre-authorisation). You are liable for up to the amount of your excess towards the repair cost. If the damage is minor, you will only be charged the repair costs and not the entire excess.
Or options as below can be taken to reduce bond/excess. (Options are payable at the depot).

Excess/Bond Reduction Insurance options:
SILVER - for NZ$30 per day (max 50 days) reduces excess/bond to NZ$2000 (Credit Card Bank pre-authorisation).

GOLD - for NZ$45 per day (max 50 days) reduces excess/bond to NZ$750. (Credit Card Bank pre-authorisation). One window and multiple windscreen chips will be covered for accidental damage. Also includes: Picnic Table & Chairs (one chair for each person traveling), Baby Seat and/or Child Booster Seat.

PLATINUM - for NZ$70 per day (max 50 days) reduces excess/bond to NZ$0. Also includes: free hire of selected accessories: GPS, Baby Seat, Outside BBQ, Picnic Table and Chairs. One window, multiple windscreen chips and two tyres covered for accidental damage.

PROTECTION PLUS - for NZ$60 per day the Excess/Bond is reduced to NZ$Nil. No Excess/Bond.

PLEASE BE AWARE that once an Excess Reduction Option is selected and confirmed, the cost Excess Reduction Option is NON-REFUNDABLE. Each insurance policy can only have one claim made by hirer - the policy is cancelled after each claim.

ROAD USER CHARGES (for Diesel vehicles).
The Road User Charge is NZ$7.20 per 100kms for Happy 3, Hi 5, Happy ST
The Road User Charge is NZ$7.30 per 100kms for Happy 4 Berths.

ONE WAY HIRES
For one way hires between Christchurch and Auckland or vice versa the minimum hire period is 14 days at all times.

One way fees are as follows:
Hires where pickup is between 1 April and 30 September 2018, and hires between 1 April and 30 September 2019:
Auckland to Christchurch travel - one way fee of $100
Christchurch to Auckland travel - no one way fee

Hires where pickup is between 1 October 2018 and 31 March 2019, and hires between 1 October 2019 and 31 March 2020:
Auckland to Christchurch travel - one way fee of $250
Christchurch to Auckland travel - one way fee of $150

A complimentary transfer is available from the Airport or accommodation surrounding the Airport on the day of pick-up and drop-off between hours of 10.00am and 3.00pm.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY SURCHARGE
Public Holiday vehicle collection will incur a one off fee of $60 to be paid at pick up. Happy Campers is open on the following Public Holidays: 2 January, Waitangi Day, Easter Monday, ANZAC Day, Queens Birthday, Labour Day, Boxing Day, Auckland and Christchurch anniversary days. Closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Easter Friday (19th April 2019).

MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD
The minimum hire period is 5 days for 2 berths, 7 days for 2 ST, and 10 days for 4 berths between 1 May and 30 September. This increases to 10 days (2 ST), and 14 days (4 berths) between 1 October and 30 April. Minimum hire increases to 14 days between 15 December and 7 January. These are subject to change during peak seasons.

DRIVERS LICENSES
All drivers must be over 18 years, and hold a full and current New Zealand driver's licence for 12 months for Sleepervans and 2-3 berths only, or an International Driving Licence, or a licence from the country of origin with English translation. To hire a 4 berth, over 21 years or older. There is no extra charge for an additional driver.

CANCELLATION FEES
29 days and over prior to pickup the deposit is retained with a minimum of NZ$250.
For 20 - 28 days prior to pickup 20% of gross rental is retained (or the deposit whichever is the greater)
From 10 - 19 days prior to pickup 60% of gross rental.
0 - 9 days prior, Cancelled on the day or No Show, 100% of gross rental is retained.
If a vehicle is returned early for any reason there is no refund available.

AMENDMENTS If an amendment is made to the rental dates within 28 days of collection, no refund will be made if the length of hire is decreased. A relocation fee may apply if the collection or return location is amended within 28 days of vehicle pickup. Any amendment made to decrease the length of the hire will incur a NZ$50 administration fee. It is important to note that Kiwi Campers may at its discretion treat any amendment to decrease the booking as a cancellation.
