GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE FOR TRAVEL FROM MAY 2026

TRAVEL INSURANCE
For peace of mind, JUCY/star strongly recommends that all our customers take the highest level of private travel insurance.

ONE WAY HIRE FEES -LOCATION FEES

EXTRA DRIVERS
First driver free, extra drivers are $2 per day each, this is capped at 25 days/$50.

EARLIEST AND LATEST PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF TIMES
Auckland/Christchurch/Queenstown: First pick up/drop off: 8.30am and latest pick up/drop-off 4.00pm. Closed Christmas day.
The first shuttle of the day departs the Airport at 8.45am. The last shuttle of the day leaves the Depot at 3.45pm.

All depots Closed Christmas day. No late pickups available.

MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD
The site will only quote when minimum hire periods are requested. Minimum rental periods are subject to change.

BOND
If the customer chooses the Risk Taker option, we pre-authorise the bond amount based on the chosen vehicle type. Bond is held as an authorisation on the valid credit or debit card with the customer's name on it at the pickup. The bond will be released at the end of the hire by JUCY/ Star (subject to no damage or claims) and may take 5 to 30 working days to reflect on their card. If there is damage to the vehicle on its return or any other terms of the rental contract have not been met, the bond will be used to cover the cost up to the relevant liability. Any extra costs will be charged if the rental contract terms are breached and the bond is insufficient to cover the damage.

ONLINE CHECK-IN
All customers must complete online check-in 7 days prior to arrival at the branch to collect their vehicle. Online check-in can be completed anytime via our website within My Booking.

DRIVERS LICENCE
Drivers must be 18 years of age or up to 75 years of age. A full resident country driver's licence, held for at least one year, is to be presented at the time of rental. If the licence is not in English format, an international driver's licence is also required. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit. Please note any non-New Zealand licence classified as or comparable to a restricted licence or probationary licence will not be accepted. Drivers 75+ must be approved by the sales manager. A Young Driver Fee for JUCY authorised drivers aged from 18-20 is $5 per day.

INFRINGEMENTS
Customers are responsible for paying all parking citations, fines and other fees/penalties associated with their hire. There will be a $80 administration fee for all infringements processed by JUCY/star. If the customer travels on a toll road and incurs any tolls, JUCY/star will charge any tolls and fees to the
customer's nominated credit card along with a service fee of $3.45 each time the vehicle incurs a toll during the hire.

UNAUTHORISED TRAVEL
The Vehicle must not be driven off-road, on unsafe or restricted roads or locations (including beaches, through water crossings, flooded roads, snow affected roads without chains or closed roads), through any locations JUCY or Star RV notifies as restricted to you at the time of collection or during the Hire Term, or otherwise, in any area JUCY or Star RV reasonably considers to be unsafe for the vehicle or passengers in the vehicle
An Unauthorised Travel fee of $250 per violation may apply

GROUP BOOKING CONDITIONS
Applies to groups of 5 or more vehicles travelling together. All group bookings are on a request basis and payment (as per below) applies to the total amount the group booking total.
We require a non refundable deposit of 20% at time of booking to secure the reservation
JUCY requires a further non refundable payment of 30% 100 days prior to the collection date
The balance is due 30 days prior to the collection date. If the payment of the balance is not made, the reservations may be cancelled and a 50% cancellation fee will apply.

CANCELLATION FEE
If cancelled 7 calendar days or more prior to pick up: $250 Cancellation Admin fee applies.
If cancelled between 1 – 6 calendar days prior to pick up: 50% of the total booking value or receive a 100% (of amount paid) credit towards a future booking
If cancelled within 24 hours to pick up or a no show: 100% of the total booking value will still be charged
If you change the pick-up date within the cancellation time frames listed above and then you cancel the amended booking; the original cancellation fee will apply.

AMENDMENTS TO THE HIRE The first booking amendment will incur no charge. Any subsequent changes are charged at NZ$50 per change.
